"It’s been on my bucket list to visit Shore Acres State Park during King Tides.. and I finally got to! It was a beautiful sunny day, but even with that, the waves were super impressive. Could only imagine the wave action when it’s stormy! There are plenty of little paths to take and explore, other than the view points most people stand by to get photos, a gift shop with great items and nice people working in it, and even a botanical garden. We spent a few hours here total, but can’t wait to go back again. Thank you for having us. 🌊🥰🫶🏼"

"Nice state park off the 101. We spent about an hour here walking trails, exploring the beautiful botanical gardens and admiring views of the nearby ocean. We went to the overlook and observation building. Restrooms were clean and tidy and there was plenty of parking. Saw birds and deer (a doe and two fawn)."

"This state park offers scenery so stunning it’s hard to put into words, along with top-notch infrastructure. One important note—dogs are not allowed here, so if you want to explore the gardens and coastal views, you’ll need to leave them briefly in the car.
The sight of waves crashing against seaside rocks, the mist rising from the surf, and the sound of the ocean create a mesmerizing atmosphere. The walking path overlooking this scene winds through wide, open lawns that feel both beautiful and majestic.
Just when you think the view can’t get any better, the trail leads you to an unexpectedly charming botanical garden. After spending time there, I browsed the gift shop and wrapped up the visit.
I absolutely plan to return in another season—and this is a must-visit destination I wholeheartedly recommend."

While the dramatic waves are the main draw, be prepared for larger crowds during these periods. Remember to dress in layers, as coastal weather can be unpredictable, and bring a camera to capture the breathtaking, albeit fleeting, moments of the ocean's fury.
A Garden Oasis by the Sea

Many visitors express delight at discovering this unexpected horticultural gem nestled along the coast. It's a place where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll, admire the vibrant colors, and take in the ocean breeze. The combination of the manicured landscape and the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean creates a unique and picturesque setting, making it a favorite spot for photographers and nature lovers alike.
Exploring the Rocky Shoreline and Tide Pools
Walking along the rocky areas requires caution and appropriate footwear, as the surfaces can be slippery and uneven. It's a fantastic opportunity for families and nature enthusiasts to learn about intertidal life. Remember to observe the creatures gently and avoid disturbing their habitat.
