"Wow...grew up in the Springs, even went to UCCS, and I have never done this trail until today.
Although it's far from being my favorite hike, it is impressive in that, the Austin Bluffs Open Space is "hidden" in the middle of town. It only takes minutes to get to from Academy, and yet, you feel like you're somewhat secluded.
I went on a hot, summer afternoon and there was absolutely no one else in sight 🤣. Obviously, most people are smarter than I was. Who hikes when it's 94⁰ and sunny?! Regardless of the extreme heat, it was still worth it! The Open Space provides an opportunity to get in a quick 1-2 mile hike and take in some beautiful views."
