What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for Deep River Brewing are polarized, with some patrons praising its exceptionally warm, family-friendly, and community-oriented atmosphere, excellent service, and diverse beer selection. Others, however, describe an unwelcoming environment with rude staff and a hostile vibe, leading to disappointment.
"This place is exactly the “family-friendly, everyone-welcome” brewery they advertise — honestly, even better than expected. I was extremely impressed.
Normally breweries already feel friendlier than bars, but this one had an unusually warm, inviting, community atmosphere that immediately stood out in the best way.
The brewery gave off more of a relaxed, upbeat neighborhood vibe instead of anything intimidating. The crowd was happy, social, and enjoying themselves, creating a really positive energy. It’s clear management fosters a safe, comfortable environment.
If anything, the place was so well-run that I’d be interested to know if they even need security on weekend nights — the crowd was calm, well-behaved, and clearly there to have a good time.
The staff was super friendly, and it was obvious they take great care of both regulars and new visitors. I felt welcomed from the moment I walked in. It genuinely feels like a place where everyone belongs.
The employees were smiling, upbeat, and working together smoothly. Even when things got busy, they stayed professional and pleasant. There was a great sense of morale behind the bar. The woman who seemed to be the manager was one of the most attentive and hardworking people I’ve seen in a brewery, constantly helping customers, supporting the staff, and keeping everything running perfectly.
I also noticed the staff being incredibly patient and kind with children. It’s one of the most genuinely family-friendly breweries I’ve been to. I would absolutely feel comfortable bringing my kids or dogs here — the environment is safe, relaxed, and inclusive.
Each time I visited, I liked the place even more. There’s no ego here — just a down-to-earth team that clearly loves what they do. The service was excellent, and the beers were delicious and priced exactly where craft beer should be. Deep River is absolutely worth the hype.
So if you’re looking for a welcoming, family-friendly brewery where your business is truly appreciated, this is the perfect spot!"

"Not at all the “family-friendly” everyone welcome brewery as advertised. Incredibly disappointed with this place.
Normally I find breweries to have a friendlier atmosphere than bars, unfortunately I found that to not be the case with this unfriendly place.
This brewery gave off more of a hostile biker bar vibe instead of a friendly brewery vibe. It looked like there were several glassy eyed, intoxicated drunks, stumbling around, staring people down, looking for a fight. It’s unfortunate management tolerates that degenerate behavior.
I’d be interested to know if they hire security on weekend nights, I’m sure they need it.
The grumpy staff was picking favorites among customers and giving preferential treatment to the regulars. It did not look like new customers were welcome there. This place should not be open to the public with that kind of behavior and instead should be a member’s only establishment.
The staff was rude and evidently not allowed to smile while working. They were rushing around and loudly barking orders out even when it was extremely slow. There was just a very low morale feel about the place. A pouty faced woman behind the bar (seemed to be the manager) was by far the most miserable looking person I’ve ever seen work at a brewery. I witnessed her yelling and screaming at staff, as well as paying customers. Perhaps she would do better in a setting away from any human interaction.
I saw a few of the staff getting noticeably irritated with children playing.
Personally, I don’t know if I would feel comfortable having my kiddos or fur babies there contrary to how they market their business. They should consider banning children or pets considering the type rowdy crowd they cater to.
The few times I went there, I was more disappointed with each visit. The entire establishment has an attitude of superiority with every employee there completely full of themselves. Service was awful and the overpriced beers were only subpar at best. Overall, the experience was far from the hype and Deep River is greatly overrated in my opinion.
Now I understand why there are plenty of other bad reviews about this unfriendly brewery. I should’ve listened to them describing how miserable and rude all of the staff are, similar to my experience.
So if you’re looking for a nice family-friendly place to enjoy a cold brew where your business is appreciated, I would keep looking."
