Reviews Summary

Guests rave about the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza's breathtaking Art Deco architecture and historic charm, often comparing it to a museum. The prime downtown location and elegant dining/bar options are also frequently praised. However, some visitors find the rooms to be small and dated for the price, with occasional issues regarding amenities and service.

"What a gem this hotel is! We arrived at about the same time all the baseball fans were trying to check in and the staff was very helpful. The doorman gave us the rundown on what to expect and some pointers to make things go smoothly. The desk was short staffed but handled everyone with respect, professionalism, and didn’t rush anyone through, making sure we had what we needed. Our room was clean and fit in nicely with the aesthetic of the hotel.

What an amazing history this place has! We spent almost two hours checking out the displays, reading the signs, and enjoying the atmosphere. I love the corridor with all the salons- each doorway has a different architectural style with a sign explaining what it is. It felt like a museum! I won’t say it is haunted, but you could definitely feel the past grandeur of the spaces and easily imagine what the place was in all of its glory. I really wish we could have seen the hall of mirrors!"

"This hotel is nice, large, and there are many attractions attached inside this hotel. This hotel is also in a great location to walk around and enjoy your surrounding area. The bar area is very nice, they serve late and they have a piano player. However, I am perturbed at the price we paid for such basic rooms. There was no microwave in the room, and they didn't offer us any breakfast in the morning. The mini fridge was way too small. I have paid less for rooms and have had a larger fridge and microwave included.
We also called room service twice and they never came up like they stated they would. I also was disturbed by the King Suite having a see-through curtain on the door, since the pull out couch is facing the king bed..you can see right into the room.
The menu for room service is a little on the expensive side.
The cable went out at night and never came back on - I took a photo of that.
On the other hand, the 11AM staff at the front desk on June 8th, 2025 was incredible!! Their attitudes would be the only reason we would visit again."

OUT N' ABOUT

"This place is for you! If you like an 1800’s hotel, poorly updated and cleaned, with low service level.

I forgot to check out reviews before I booked this for a 2 day business trip.

Old is an understatement. Not just the historic building. Also the layout, fixtures, rugs, beds. Basically feels like the owner is milking it and doesn’t want to put in cash to make this better. Can’t believe the Hilton people think this is at their standards.

And rooms - VERY small. You’ll laugh at the closet. And the bathroom - also hard to believe this passes for an upscale property."
