Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Fort Columbia State Park for its well-preserved historical military installations and stunning panoramic views of the Columbia River meeting the Pacific. Many enjoy exploring the old bunkers and hiking the scenic trails, finding it a peaceful and educational experience. Some note that museum hours can be seasonal.

"Historical military installation with sweeping views of the mouth of the Columbia River meeting the Pacific Ocean. You can definitely understand the strategic importance when you see the position of the batteries. There is also a museum but the sign in the door said it won't open until June 7, 2025 so I believe it may only be open seasonally. Even with it closed, there was so much to take in. Scenery, hiking, wildlife. You should definitely bring a pair of binoculars."

"This is such a neat place to stop, even if the buildings aren't open for visitors. We stopped before tourist season for a short walk down nostalgia lane from previous stops. This time, we followed a trail up to some amazing views. If you're not much of a hiker, there are nice paths between the buildings. They are on a hill though, so know that if you're unsure on your feet."
