What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art for its vibrant contemporary exhibitions and welcoming atmosphere. It's noted as a gem in the Ukrainian Village, offering a focused art experience that's easily digestible within an hour. While small, the art is beautiful and the staff are exceptionally friendly, making it a highly recommended cultural stop.
"I have been to this museum many times. It's not too big, and you can usually see everything in an hour or less. I don't think they have any permanent collection. Every time I visited, it seemed all the pieces of art were part of whatever show was on. It's also free (but with a suggested donation). Certainly a great addition to the attractions in the city!"

"🖼🎭 One gem of a gallery in Ukranian village featuring artworks from local and foreign artists (not necessarily of Ukranian descent). Artworks/exhibits are updated bi-monthly. Entry is $5. Walk-ins are fine but if you have a big group, would recommend calling them ahead of time to help them stay on top on capacity requirements. It’s not too big so you probably wouldn’t need more than 45 mins at this place."

"Such a beautiful space with rich history! Decided to stop here while exploring the neighborhood. I was surprised by how small the space was, however left feeling very welcome and enlightened by the staff member Elena! The collection includes paintings, sculptures, and installations. Some of my favorite pieces included kinetic sculptures by two of the founders! Although not as big as some of Chicago's other art galleries, the pieces are beautiful and you can easily make this a quick stop while in the neighborhood. This gallery has alot of heart and I will be returning for future exhibits ❤️"
