"We like to visit Cherokee & sit along the river. We are here for the summer/ fall & will drive to have a picnic lunch, read a book, walk around the park. The island has a beautiful bamboo forest with a trail amongst the bamboo. The river is safe for swimming, be careful of the slippery rocks. The park is clean with several picnic areas, family & pet friendly. It's a very relaxing and peaceful place to unwind. There is also a clean restroom on one of the wooden bridges across to the island."

"The park is properly maintained, and the restrooms we're clean and well stocked. There were rocked-out areas making safe swimming holes for children of all ages. Walkways were very wide and flat, which made the park family and elder friendly. The Bamboo Forest was pretty cool. We were able to get a few interesting photos.
