What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
PNC Music Pavilion is praised for its excellent sound quality and well-designed seating that offers great views. Attendees appreciate the variety of food and drink options and the venue's layout, including accessible restrooms. However, some visitors have experienced issues with inconsistent bag policies, rude staff, and significant traffic delays when exiting the parking lot.
"Came to a concert on a Tuesday afternoon. Decided to take an Uber as I read horror stories about arriving and parking so decided that was the best option. Uber dropped us off right in front and we were able to wait in line until the place opened. Once you are inside it's easy to navigate. Clear plastic purses are allowed or small wallets or clutches. Because of the heat advisory, you can bring in one factory-sealed water bottle or an empty water bottle which you can fill up with water once inside. They sell food, hot dogs, pretzels, popcorn, and drinks of course. Very easy to navigate. There are workers everywhere helping and guiding you to your seat or lawn area. Overall great location. You will spend a pretty penny on drinks but that's understandable."

"PNC Pavilion was an awesome place to watch a concert! I went to the Jason Aldean concert on 8/22/25, and had a great time! I love how the seats in the venue are sloped backwards in a way that everybody present has a great view of the performer on stage, and how the video boards are situated in a way that great accents what's going on on stage.
I also loved the concession stands, which moved quickly and had quite a large variety of beers and seltzers.
All-in-all, PNC Pavilion was a great place to watch a concert, and I hope to be back soon!"

"Good facility with great views for reasonable prices. However, their bag policy on their website does not match what security actually allows in. Had to throw a soft sided cooler away with contents that fit the size requirements on the website because it wasnt clear. Staff was extremely rude and overly co frontational about the cooler as well. Took an hour and a half to get out of the parking lot after the show due to poor traffic management. Enjoyed the show, but wont be back."

Understanding the Lawn Experience
While the lawn provides a communal feel, it's important to note that sightlines can vary depending on your exact position and the crowd density. For popular shows, arriving early is often recommended to secure a good spot with a clear view of the stage. Large video screens are strategically placed throughout the venue to ensure that all attendees, including those on the lawn, can see the performers clearly. This setup allows for an enjoyable experience even if you're further back from the stage.
Keep in mind that the lawn is an outdoor space, so be prepared for varying weather conditions. During hot weather advisories, bringing an empty water bottle to refill inside is a smart move. The lawn experience is a popular choice for many concert-goers seeking a more laid-back and communal way to enjoy live music at the PNC Music Pavilion.
Concert Day Logistics: Parking, Traffic, and Entry
However, even with ride-sharing, be prepared for potential surge pricing and the general traffic that surrounds a large event. The exit from the parking lots after a show is notorious for being slow, with some visitors reporting it taking up to an hour and a half to leave. This is a common experience at large outdoor venues, so patience is key. Some attendees suggest waiting a bit after the show concludes before attempting to leave the parking area to let the initial rush subside.
When it comes to entry, understanding the venue's bag policy is crucial. While websites may provide guidelines, actual security enforcement can sometimes differ. Generally, clear plastic bags or small clutches are preferred. Bringing in water is permitted under certain conditions, such as during heat advisories, where one factory-sealed bottle or an empty reusable bottle is allowed, with refill stations available inside. Planning ahead for these aspects can significantly improve your concert day experience.
Food, Drinks, and Amenities
While the convenience is undeniable, it's worth noting that prices for food and drinks at the venue are generally on the higher side, which is standard for most large entertainment venues. Attendees often mention that these costs add up quickly, so budgeting accordingly is advised. Despite the expense, the service at the concession stands is often reported as being efficient, with lines moving relatively quickly, even during peak times.
Beyond food and drink, the venue is well-equipped with amenities. Restrooms are plentiful and easily accessible, ensuring minimal disruption to your concert experience. The overall layout of the pavilion is designed for attendee comfort and convenience, contributing to a positive overall visit.
