"Didn't get a chance to get a quarter for the meter before the young lady already wrote the ticket. Don't park in Charles Town without having spare change in your car."

"Lovely city everyone is so helpful and kind"
Micheal George
"I'm not American, I was travelling across the beautiful USA. While visiting Charles Town I popped into City Hall trying to gather some info about the history of the area, places I should visit etc.
An employee inside asked me what my accent was and started making racist comments, telling me I need to go back to my own country. Within minutes police arrived and forcibly removed me from the building. I overheard the lady and the officer talking, apparently they go to church together. Visitors not welcome."

Navigating Parking and Meters
Some visitors have shared experiences of receiving tickets even when they believed they had sufficient time or change. This highlights the importance of being vigilant and double-checking meter status. If you plan on spending a significant amount of time exploring the shops and historic sites, consider looking for longer-term parking options slightly off the main street if available, or be prepared to feed the meter regularly.
