What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Atlantis Waterpark at Bull Run is a beloved spot for families, praised for its vigilant lifeguards and kid-friendly attractions like splash pads and a giant dump bucket. While the main pool and slides offer good fun, some visitors note that certain features have been removed and that facilities like locker room showers can have inconsistent temperatures. Food is available but pricey, leading many to recommend bringing your own.
"The main pool was large and warm. There are two large slides and two splash pads. We were expecting more but it worked for the needs of our family. The outdoor seating and lockers need to be updated."
Julia “Momofboys” Baptiste
"A little disappointed. We didn't realize that they removed most of the water features so it's really just a big swimming pool. There are still things for younger kids but all and all kinda a bust. Also, I was very surprised that there was no one there on Memorial Day weekend. The last time we went there was a line to get in but today (Sunday, Aug. 31st) we had it to ourselves."

"The park itself is fantastic! We love this place and have had great experiences in the past. However, this year, the water in the men's locker room was freezing cold at all times—whether it was evening, noon, or morning. It was fine last year and the year before. I spoke to a manager, and it seems this is an ongoing issue. The next day, we visited the park in the morning and encountered the same problem. It's unreasonable to ask people to shower before entering the water when the showers don't work properly. The situation is completely opposite in the women's locker room, where the water is sometimes extremely hot. This park has great potential, but these issues need addressing.
Regarding the food, I ordered chicken wings and french fries on both Saturday and Sunday. On Sunday, the french fries were very old—not crunchy but oily and soft, making them inedible. Additionally, the food is very expensive. It appears there's a lack of quality control.
On the positive side, the lifeguards are always vigilant, which is very reassuring. The park is amazing for kids and even adults. Don’t get me wrong, the park is fantastic—you just need to fix the showers. Last year, this place was amazing, but this year the issues with the showers are disappointing. I'm not sure if I will visit again, as I can't force my 5-year-old kids to shower with freezing cold water."

Navigating the Water Features
Families with very young children will appreciate the dedicated splash pads and 'gated' kiddie areas, ensuring little ones can play safely without wandering into deeper water. While some reviews mention that certain water features have been removed over time, the existing attractions are generally well-received for providing a solid day of aquatic entertainment, especially for a community-focused waterpark.
It's worth noting that while the park is fantastic for kids, some visitors have expressed a desire for more diverse or updated water features. However, the vigilant lifeguards and the overall family-friendly atmosphere contribute to a positive experience.
Dining and Refreshments
Several guests suggest utilizing the picnic shelters located just outside the main waterpark area to enjoy your own meals. This strategy not only saves money but also allows for more control over food quality. Some reviews have pointed out inconsistencies, with one mentioning french fries being oily and soft, making them inedible.
If you do plan to purchase food at the park, be prepared for potentially higher costs and varying quality. For those with specific dietary needs or preferences, bringing your own provisions is the most reliable option to ensure a satisfying dining experience during your visit.
Locker Room and Facility Conditions
Conversely, the women's locker room has sometimes experienced water that is extremely hot. This inconsistency in shower temperatures has been a recurring issue for some guests, impacting their overall experience, especially when trying to rinse off after a day of swimming. Managers have acknowledged this as an ongoing problem that needs addressing.
Beyond the showers, some reviews also mention that the outdoor seating and lockers could benefit from updates. Despite these facility concerns, the park's core offerings—the water attractions and the dedicated staff—continue to draw families looking for a summer day out.
