"We visited in April 2025.
This was our favorite waterfall in all of Sequoia and King's canyon national Parks.
It's only about 100 yards off of the main road.
At high water it is spectacular. And there's a lovely cooling mist that comes off of the waterfall.
Later in the season I'm sure this would be a great place to cool off.
There are several nice picnic tables here as well, so it's a great place to grab lunch or have a snack."

📸 📸 Photography Tips
For capturing the mist and motion, use a slower shutter speed (e.g., 1/15 to 1 second) with a tripod to avoid blur. For a sharp image, a faster shutter speed will freeze the water. Consider a polarizing filter to reduce glare on wet rocks.
Early morning or late afternoon light provides softer, more flattering light. Midday sun can be harsh and create strong shadows.
A wide-angle lens is great for capturing the entire waterfall and its surroundings. A telephoto lens can be useful for isolating specific details of the falls.
The main viewing area right off the path offers excellent perspectives. You can also find slightly different angles by carefully exploring the immediate vicinity.
A tripod is highly recommended for long exposures. Bring lens cloths to wipe away mist and a rain cover for your camera if conditions are wet.
