"Hiking down was about 30-35mins and pretty easy. The harbor is beautiful and worth the hike. Hiking back up is tough. After hike, rest, hike, rest, it took us an hour. Whoever wanna go, make sure you bring enough water!"

"It’s worth the hike! It’s about a 500ft elevation gain (over 1.4 miles) on the way back so it’s not too hard/steep."

"My son came up to visit, so we decided on a "moderate" hike such as Skunk Harbor. We live in Minden, so it was a short half hour drive to up the Skunk Harbor Trail head on HWY 28. That was at 11AM and headed down an easy to follow trail, down. More Down, and More Down. Beautiful 70 degree weather and glimpses of picturesque Lake Tahoe. More Down.
Ah ha! Made it to the lake shore at Noon. Not bad, since I am 73, husband is 72, and son is 47. Since Son John always likes to be prepared he carried a too heavy backpack (See pic). Explored a bit then headed back UP. Up the trail, rest. Up trail, rest. Find shade, rest. OMG made it to the top in One Hour, 20 minutes! A 3-Hour excursion!"
