Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Garland Ranch for its diverse trails, beautiful scenery, and free admission. It's a popular spot for dog owners due to the off-leash policy. Some find certain trails challenging, and a few mention the lack of waterfalls in drier months or the need to navigate around private property.

"A variety of running and hiking trails with plenty of accessible, beautiful viewpoints. No waterfall in late June. Snivley’s ridge is worth the effort. If your adventure level is high, beware that the park is surrounded by private property so you may need to amend your route. My loop required a bridge-less creek crossing and a short jog down the highway back to the car to avoid backtracking. The hike up to the fire tower is slow, steep and overgrown."

Adam Thompson

"One of the two "hard" hikes in Monterey County. Manageable, but very long, unbroken inclined to Pinion Peak fire tower. Great, panoramic view from the top."

Gregory Miller

"Nice wide walking paths. Beautiful setting. Does allow dogs off leash on trails provided they have voice recall. Good parking, restrooms & best of all...free admission. If haven't been before, pickup a trail map outside visitor center."
