Reviews Summary
Fort D Historic Site is appreciated for its historical significance, informative signage, and pleasant river views, making it a good quick stop for history enthusiasts. However, some visitors have noted concerns about the surrounding neighborhood and parking, and the fort's buildings may not always be open.
"Fort D is a cool stop, with nice grounds and a great overlook. Unfortunately it was closed when I went, so there wasn’t too much to do. However, the grounds have tons of historic markers and information signs to read through which tells all about the fort and its history. If you’re looking for a quick historic stop in town, this is a good one."

"We thought we would stop by this while in town. It didn't feel like a safe place. We parked across the street in what looked like an abandoned building of some kind. We walked up and before we could check it out noticed a tent. We walked around to see someone's clothing hung up on the building itself. We love to learn history of different places we visit... however the view of the fort and river are okay. I'm not sure I would recommend this stop."

"Just a little stop on our day out. Just interesting to learn some local history from the info boards. Just a little park surrounded by a neighborhood."
