Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the museum for its historical significance, particularly the preserved Launch Pad 26 and the free admission. Enthusiastic tour guides are frequently highlighted for their detailed knowledge. However, some note that due to its location on a closed base and limited resources, the museum's condition can be affected by hurricanes and funding.

"The entire base is closed to the public, but if you can get to this location - it is just awesome.

There are other reserved launch pads that belong to the museum, but normally people wouldn't know how to get to them unless taken there on a bus tour.

This location was closed and converted to a museum in 1970, and they preserved launch room on Pad 26 the way it was left after Alan Shepherd was launched as the first US person in space .

Sadly a lot of the stuff is gone and or was torn down by the hurricane, but it's still a great place to see history happen.

Because the museum is located on government land, they cannot charge for admission, so they don't have a lot of money, or even volunteers, to restore these artifact.

It is a closed base so even volunteers can just come and go as they please. So resources are very limited."

"This is definitely a 2 day trip to see it all. They do not take cash credit card only. Kids and adults can learn so much while having fun. It is also so close to Cocoa Beach so education and fun all in 1 so what more can you ask for. Great 2 days."

Paula Hampton

"Small yet powerful museum. Packed full of significant artifacts and enthusiastic tour guides who are particular about detail. Mr. Kennedy is a great resource!"
