What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often praise Adventure Aquarium Camden for its engaging exhibits, particularly the shark tunnel and unique animals like hippos and little blue penguins, making it a hit with families. However, many find the overall experience to be a significant 'money trap' due to high ticket prices, expensive food, and numerous add-on costs for activities and souvenirs.
"I feel really on the fence about this aquarium. My kid absolutely loves it here and the exhibits are great. But the aquarium is a money trap. For one, the ticket prices are high, like $41pp if you aren't a memmber. Then you have to pay $10 for parking. Then you get in the place and it's just flooded with stuff to buy. You can't leave this place without passing through the gift shop AND their cafeteria. Not too mention the place is littered with vending machines for dipping dots, Skittles, soda, souvenir pennies, souvenir fake gold coins, and claw games. Then their are cartoonists and face painters stationed right in the main intersection of the first floor exhibits. The face paint was like $20. Yikes. Then there are virtually reality headset experience you have to pay to try. Not to mention random snack stands at every turn, even at the outside penguin exhibit there was an ice cream stand. I'm lucky if we can escape this place without spending more than $200/day for my family of three."

And absolutely hang with the hippos.. just love them Be sure to go into the shark tank during feeding time! Also the food is delicious with great views of Philly."
