What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Joseph Cellars is consistently praised for its intimate, personalized wine tasting experiences, particularly within its atmospheric wine cave. Visitors rave about the knowledgeable and friendly staff, who make everyone feel like family, and the exceptional quality of the wines, especially the Sauvignon Blanc. It's a boutique winery that offers a standout, memorable visit in Napa Valley.
"In my travels and my limited vineyard visits, my two favorite wine tasting experiences have been when I pull up to the vineyard and there’s not another car there. They were also both recommended by locals before I book them. One was in Montalcino, Italy, and the other one was in Calistoga California. Joseph Cellars is the second one. Coincidentally it’s also one of two vineyards where I did a visit and the owner of himself (and his wife(owner also) and his mother in law) not only said hello, but also talk with me and poured me a little bit of wine from one of their favorite bottles as well. If that’s not enough to get you to visit this place and consider becoming a member, I’m not sure what will be. Timmy was our wine guide on this particular Saturday, and Maddy booked us. It was a last-minute booking and I was so thankful that they had room. What a wonderful experience going all the way back in the cave around a dimly lit table while enjoying food and wine. Timmy was very knowledgeable not only about the wine, but also about the area, which was very helpful as we took his restaurant recommendation for that evening and canceled our other one (goose and Gander in Saint Helena). Give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed."

"If you want a very personable and memorable experience at a winery - this is the place to go!! Marie was our tour guide and I cannot say enough GREAT things about her and the experience she gave us at Joseph Cellars! We visited 2 other wineries in the area and Joseph’s was BY FAR the best place. Marie took the time to show us the ins and outs of the caves and barrel holding areas, taught us about the process to make the wines and even how they made the corks all while giving us her extensive knowledge about everything there is to know about wine! Highly recommend Marie and Joseph Cellars to anyone visiting the area."

"Joseph Cellars Winery offers a truly unique and memorable experience. A reservation is a must, but it’s well worth it. One of the highlights is their wine cave, you get to explore it and enjoy your wine in such a cool, atmospheric setting. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, making the tasting both educational and enjoyable. The wines themselves are exceptional, and the entire experience feels special and well-curated. If you’re looking for a standout winery visit, this is the place to go!"
