"This is a beautiful 177 year old city cemetery. A bit worn form the ravages of time but a new group has formed to take it to the next 177 years. The founding fathers and mothers of Brunswick are buried here and tho the cemetery is small (about 1200 graves) it is BIG on charm. One of the most lovely Victorian Cemeteries I have ever seen."

"My experience was to visit the old grave stones an check out the many old time veterans that were residing there. Many years ago I had visited there an was shocked that no one was taking care of it as the grass was growing over most of the head stones an they were unreadable. But to my surprise the Lady's of Oak Grove had decided to take an interest in it an started cleaning it up. They even had the little house painted with bright colors an had planted knockout rose bushes an had benches put in actually it was quite serene an peaceful to be able to sit an pay respect to old forgotten loved ones. From the looks of it most of the people buried there were some of the founders of the city an many head stones were decorated with American Flags an some with Christmas Wreaths. I always go through with several family members an we all read the head stones an imagine what it must have been like back then in the late 1700's an 1800's what each person had to endure during there life time. There were many infants buried there as well. Kinda sad. The Live Oak Trees with the swaying moss an resurrection ferns growing on the tree limbs covering them like a blanket. I could sit there for hours as it stays quite cool there even during a hot day.."
