"There was a lot of Train history in here in the Maryland area. Tons of pictures and memories with quite a few areas where the kids are encouraged to touch exhibit pieces. On the third floor there is a massive model train setup that reflects the trains routes in Maryland. There are 5 or 6 running trains going in both directions. A definite must see for train enthusiasts.
It's free to enter and it looks like a privately curated collection so don't forget to leave a donation of appreciation. You can leave it in the jar at the register. They also take donations via credit card for those that don't carry cash."

"The train model on the 3rd floor was so cool! There’s a museum on the 1st and 2nd floors. The ladies at the front desk were so nice and friendly. You can get 2 national park stamps here: the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal and the Potomac Heritage stamps. There’s a cute gift shop with train themed things. Plenty of free parking towards the back of the building."

"They do a really nice job here. Both on the history as well as the trains. For a small town, this is a nice museum and wonderfully kept up. I am really more curious what clown gave it 1 star. Both volunteers I spoke with couldn't have been more accommodating and the train area was crazy impressive. Thanks to all the folks over the years who contributed to that - it actually had semi-accurate dioramas of Gaithersburg, Rockville and Silver Spring. (semi to be emphasized but in all 3 cases I could recognize stuff and locations). Wishing them the best and if you are local, please support them as well."
