Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the stunning natural beauty of Ottawa National Forest, particularly the numerous waterfalls and the remote, wild feel. The abundance of wildlife and opportunities for fishing and hiking are major draws. However, be prepared for intense insect populations and challenging, remote road conditions.

"Drove through this region and around. Very beautiful forest, absolutely loved it and the small but beautiful mountain ranges. Very remote and pretty slice of forested Americana not too different looking than in. New England states like New Hampshire, though a little more flat. The nearby Lake in the Clouds is also an amazing site and are some legit mountains next to Lake Superior and quite a view. The porcupine mountains where they are a legit mountain range and very beautiful.

Overall loved our little weekend trip up here and definitely recommend all the lakes and hiking areas and pretty forest and topography."

John Smith

"A "MUST SEE" when you are near Ironwood. Not only is it an amazing sight, but its also a piece of history! Simply amazing views of Copper Peak in the Fall.. at sinrise!"

Rick Smith

"Such a beautiful national forest with many things to see. Espcially the black river scenic area. It's hard to leave this place."
