"Beautiful spot to enjoy a picnic, take the dog for a walk, try your hand at fishing, or do some bird watching!
We took our three boys fishing and for a picnic dinner. There was a nice covered picnic area right next to the pond, as well as bench seating on the fishing dock. You can fish from either the dock or off-shore, around the north side of the pond. We didn't catch any fish, though we did get lots of bites. There was one other person fishing who had luck catching itty-bitty blue gills with tiny hooks off the east side of the dock.
We went around 6pm and enjoyed the evening colors and sunset. If you're hear to walk, it's a great place to park and connect with miles of other trails. There is ample parking and a port o' potty near the parking lot. Lots of animals in the area. We saw turtles, coyotes, and heron nesting in the tree across the pond.
The only draw back to this spot is the road noise from 120th. If you're wanting solitude and quiet, this isn't the pond for you (although good luck finding anywhere inside the city that fits that bill).
Update: We went back with smaller hooks and worms and fished off the shore. This time we caught about 20 little bluegills over the course of an hour!"

"It's nice to have such a peaceful and scenic place to view wildlife or enjoy a pleasant ride, run or stroll right here in the heart of the metropolis. Friends of mine have seen the coyotes that reside in this neighborhood; I'm still hoping for my chance on one of my future visits. No shortage of birds here, that's for sure."
