What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Blue Bell Creameries Visitor Center for its incredible value, especially the $1 ice cream scoops which are generously sized and delicious. The opportunity to see ice cream production and learn about the brand's history adds to the charm. While the visitor center building itself could use some updates, the overall experience is highly recommended for families and ice cream lovers alike.
"Absolutely worth the wait and patience for a parking spot the week of Thanksgiving. We visited here over a decade ago and it’s still a fun family stop for all ages and mobility. The 1$ ice cream was delicious and they offer lots of choices. Fun to watch packing on the observation deck. Still feel sad for those northern and western folks on the distribution map! 😆
They have room for improvement and updating in the visitors center building. The gift shop in the other building where the observation deck and ice cream parlor are located, has adorable items for every age. As a lifelong Blue Bell fan, Blinn alumni, and 1988 high school grad of the area, it’s always fun coming home and tasting the sweetness of Blue Bell where it all began!"

"You would think as an avid Blue Bell consumer, we would have visited the creamery well before now. This being our first trip in, we thoroughly enjoyed learning more about the history in the Welcome Center. A short walk next door led us to the observation deck and ice cream parlor. The line was filling Tin Roof half gallons and Vanilla in the 3 gallon tubs.
After the observation deck we grabbed a couple scoops of ice cream for $1 each. With 20 options, we chose 6 different flavors and none were left behind. We will be back- even if it’s just for a scoop of ice cream on the road."

After the war, it returned to civilian production, focusing on its beloved ice cream. Blue Bell's commitment to quality ingredients and traditional methods has been a cornerstone of its success. The brand is known for its simple yet delicious flavors and its dedication to serving its customers, even facing challenges like distribution limitations in certain regions.
Experiencing the Production Floor
It's a fascinating and educational experience, especially for families. You can see the vats where the ice cream is churned, the machines that fill the containers, and the conveyor belts carrying tubs of your favorite flavors. While you can't walk onto the production floor itself, the viewing area provides an excellent vantage point to appreciate the scale and efficiency of the operation.

With around 20 flavors typically available, you have plenty of choices. Whether you're a fan of classic vanilla or adventurous with seasonal offerings, there's something for everyone.
