"A group of us P.E.O. members went to tour the museum, especially to see their exhibit on women in Washington State history. (Our organization raises money to promote educational opportunities for women.)
Fun fact: Entrance to the museum is always FREE.
They have exhibits that take you from the geological beginnings of the location to WW2. There are written and audio notes for most exhibits. And staff are very helpful and willing to answer questions."

"a pleasure to go to ! i walked into randomly and was amazed by how wonderfully it was set up & how genuinely entertaining i found it!! me & a friend spent about an hour there just looking at the amazing exhibits of storefronts and spaces. i really liked the interactive areas of the museum where you could use a typewriter, dial on an old phone, open up mailboxes (which had combinations for you to match up) to read letters, and more! the attention to detail was much appreciated & the staff there were so friendly and accommodating, showing us how to work the call machine! overall definitely worth stopping by and visiting as a local and as a visitor."

"This is a free local museum that does an excellent job of walking the visitor through the history of Kitsap County and Bremerton. I went here with 30 minutes I had to spare while spending the day in Bremerton, and was pleasantly surprised. My favorite displays were the USS Bremerton (CA-130) silver service and the shipyard office exhibit. I also really appreciated the firefighting exhibit and 1940s switchboard. The storefronts were very well done too. I did not have time to read everything, but I enjoyed what I did read and would recommend this place to anyone visiting Bremerton that's looking for a quick, thorough taste of the area's history - especially if you're not particularly interested in the Navy Museum a few blocks away, this museum has a much broader scope while still encompassing the region's crucial ties with the Navy. Parking can be a little tough, but most of the spots should be for an hour or more and that is enough time to work through this museum, in my opinion."
