What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the stunning fall colors, particularly along Aspen Alley, and the historical significance of the Section House and Baker's Tank. The scenic mountain views are consistently praised. Some find the walk from the bus stop challenging for families, and the road section of certain trails can be a concern if not closed to traffic.
"So, if you take the Boreas Pass Summit Stage free ride bus, it drops you 1/2 mile from the trailhead. You walk up the road, which is ok for adults, but not ideal for families with kids. If you have kids, I'd park at the trail head. Theres several trails from Boreas Pass trail head. We took the trail to the right, off the dirt road and it was an absolutely stunning trail that went through the forest with pines and aspens. "Aspen Alley" as a local called it. It was breathtaking. Well worth the hike during the fall for the colors. Easy to walk trail, all downhill from Boreas Pass. And it ended at the Sawmill Historical Museum. A couple mile walk. Then it is another mile walk back down to main street, or about .5 mile to the Ice Rink where many of the buses stop. A small portion of that you walk on the side of the road once you leave the Sawmill, but then there's a nice wide sidewalk."

"As an intimate wedding and elopement photographer, Boreas Pass is undoubtedly one of my favorite locations to share with couples. From the golden aspens in fall to the wildflowers of summer, this beautiful location never disappoints!"
Stephanie Robinson
"The first half of this trail is terrific, thru the trees and steady uphill then you come out and have to walk 1.5 miles back on the road. The views were terrific and luckily it was closed to traffic but if there were cars here it would be dangerous."
