What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the Wang Theatre for its breathtaking, meticulously restored art deco architecture, calling it an infrastructural marvel and a highlight of Boston's Theater District. The sound quality and helpful staff also receive frequent commendation. However, some find the balcony seating to be too distant and uncomfortable, suggesting binoculars or closer seats for a better experience.
"A spectacular venue in Boston's theater district for larger shows. The theater was lovingly restored and is a wonderful example of thoughtful preservation to bring it to its former glory.
While there is accessible seating and access to the T, I did not notice an elevator on the premises. The staff are helpful and abundant to make sure everyone finds their seating efficiently. The sound was excellent, and we had fantastic seats for the comedy performance.
I highly recommend visiting this theater for a performance since it's a truly incredible experience."

"We went to the Wang Theatre for the Jimmy Carr show, which was hilarious! It is an absolutely beautiful theater, with well-supported sound, and well-placed seating. The staff was so very lovely, and kind. The floor manager, Emily, and the ticketing staff were especially helpful and kind. The theater's beauty and charm are so well-preserved and provide the attendees a glance at a lovely part of history.
There is some metered parking on Tremont St, right outside of the theater, if you're lucky to find some, but if not, the Tremont St parking garage, that is attached to Tufts University hospital offices is available for parking as well. There is also a small parking lot, immediately south (the next driveway south of the Tremont St. parking garage), where parking is available by another provider/company.
The theater is perfectly located one street across from Chinatown and two blocks south from Park Street/Boston Commons. So it is right in the middle of a very fun, and popular part of Boston, easily walkable to almost all of the attractions around Boston as well.
We would certainly love to go back again, if the opportunity presents itself!"

"Beautiful ornate theater. Seriously, the theater itself is so beautiful and was an experience to see in itself. We saw The Addams Family Musical there. It was a great experience. Lots of ushers to help find your seat. Concessions. Good view from all seats, we were in the balcony. Seats weren't the most comfortable, but I feel that is to be expected in older theaters. It's a bit cramped but comfortable enough to enjoy the show."
