What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors describe Green Mountain Creek Falls as a charming and beautiful roadside waterfall, perfect for a quick stop. While small, its picturesque drop and accessibility are highly appreciated. The main considerations are the limited parking and the need for caution due to its location on a curve.
"Such a wonderful waterfall! It's certainly on the small side but it looks beautiful! Located on the Watauga side of the Watauga County / Caldwell County border on US-221, definitely pull over and take a peek! Given the narrow road, parking is of course pretty limited, but odds are you'll have enough room to pull over and admire the falls!"

"The small waterfall off Highway 221 near Blowing Rock is called Green Mountain Creek Falls. It's located about 8 miles from Main Street in Blowing Rock, and it's known for its picturesque, nearly 20-foot drop and shallow plunge pool. There is a gravel pull-off just south of the falls just big enough where you can park and get a closer look...but be careful you're on a curve in the road.
We also saw a deer! 🦌"

"Don't blink or you might miss it. Small waterfall On Side of the Road. No parking. Small pull off area on the side of the road. Watch out for oncoming traffic. Not a destination waterfall."
