"Place is wonderful for a morning or afternoon walk, very quiet and relaxing. The area includes a museum and a theater and school. The house tour is wonderful and cheap. Best time to visit is around end of summer/ fall when leaves are all changing. Many different themed art parks, one of my favorite is the Japanese art thrm, currently under renovation. Recommended."

"Cranbrook Gardens is truly a hidden gem! The grounds are absolutely stunning and so well taken care of. Every corner has something unique to admire whether it’s the colorful flowers in the Sunken Garden, the peaceful Japanese Garden with its bridge and water features, or the sculptures and fountains tucked along the pathways. The gardens are spacious, giving you plenty of room to walk, relax, and enjoy nature without feeling rushed.
What I really loved is how calm and serene the atmosphere is. You can hear birds, spot butterflies, and even see turtles by the ponds it feels like stepping into a completely different world away from the city. The history of the place adds an extra charm, especially with the Cranbrook House nearby, which is so elegant and ties the whole setting together.
It’s perfect for photography, family outings, or just a quiet walk by yourself. The best part it’s free for self-guided visits, which makes it even more special. Some areas do have uneven paths, so comfortable shoes are a must, but overall it’s an unforgettable experience. I’ll definitely be coming back in different seasons to see how it changes throughout the year!"

"Such a beautiful place! The guides for the house tour were so nice and helpful. You'd be surprised how much you spend looking at the intricacies of the ceiling in each room. The house is like an art museum of its own. The gardens were gorgeous and well maintained. Several benches for enjoying the view or just taking a break. I'm from GA, now living in MI, so being in the forest with the hills reminded me of home without having to drive out of the way. I like that you can walk to the art museum from here. We plan to go to the gardens again in the future to explore more."
