What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Lady Slipper Scenic Byway for its unique and beautiful lady slipper orchids, especially when seen during peak bloom. The accessible interpretive site and protected viewing areas are appreciated, though the short blooming season and potential for ticks and poison ivy are noted drawbacks.
"I've lived in this area for 20 years and have never traveled the Lady Slipper Scenic Byway during peak season. This year we went purposefully, on a Lady Slipper hunt. I have heard that peak viewing season is from around June 10th -July 10th. Others say Father's day to the Fourth of July. We went June 22nd, and it was perfect. Go to the interpretive site and park. Walk along the designated walkway and read the plaques. Then go across the street from the parking lot, and you will see dozens of Lady slippers in fenced-in plots. There is also poison ivy, so be careful."

"Have to go here when the lady slippers are in full bloom. Just saw 3 or 4 blooming, June 11th."
