Reviews Summary

Visitors find Camp Hancock to be a nice, quiet, and well-maintained historic site with a beautiful church and an impressive steam locomotive. While the grounds are always accessible and free, access to buildings is limited to weekends. Some areas, like the locomotive, could use more upkeep, and pigeons are a common sight.

"Nice and quiet place.
Unfortunately the church was closed when I was there and had no chance to visit it
A good opportunity to see an old steam locomotive and to be impressed by its dimensions. The left side of the locomotive, the one facing the nearby railway, would need more maintenance as in some spots the paint is falling off and in general, mainly considering the pigeons living under the roof, it would require some cleaning."

"Lovely, peaceful grounds. A pretty covered open building housing the rail engine. Plenty of pigeons/doves roosting above it so don't get past the railing! There is also a gorgeous old church on the grounds and the weather service building. Lots of sweet scented peonies on the grounds, a well maintained lawn, the perfect tree to frame photos of the beautiful church from the back, a pair of soft stained glass windows complete the site. The railroad runs behind it and the front of the site is framed by the street with lamp post signs."
