There is a tree down blocking the path towards the beginning, going clockwise (lower trail)."

"This place is awesome! Boy Scout troop 97 has been improving the area for years with Eagle Scout projects. It’s a beautiful area especially if you need a quick retreat into the woods but don’t have the engergy to fight traffic to go to oak mountain. There are plenty of streams, elevation, and rocks. It’s a very pretty place. There is even an awesome orienteering course set up there. Also there is a virtual tour of all the native plant life you can scan with your phone. It’s worth the visit. This place is slept on far too much."
Emerson Oliver
"This is a great little hike right in Homewood. It’s about a half mile loop with some elevation on a narrow / deer trail and a great, quick hike. I took my 11, 9 and 7 year old daughters and we had a blast. We will go back. There is a new entry right by the speed limit sign on South Lakeshore so be aware of that. There is also an orienteering course there which could be very fun."
