"La Madame chocolate chip cookies and peach lemonade made the perfect pairing to begin my market shopping experience.

"Great little producer-only market!! Open on Thursday afternoons, May through October - local vendors only. Great lunch spot with outdoor seating and live music. In it's 11th year serving the campus and community. Typically has fresh, local produce, fresh baked bread, meats, eggs, cupcakes, pastries, kiffles, peanut butter, awesome lunch options and more!"

Monika Skuriat Fritz

"My hopes were high for a one day weekly farmers market. But as knowing this fairly new farmers market, I give it a higher rating, just because farmers markets are dope.
So it was the beginning of the season and there wasn't a large fruit or veggie section but you know which booths will have abundance of veggies as the season progressed.
Oh they have plenty of baked goods and snacks, but which place that surpasses all of them is a vegan spot! They sell amazing vegan donuts and cupcakes and worth the drive alone.!!!!
Next I bought gmo- free range chicken eggs, delicious like always and the farmer is extremely friendly.
Will go in depth as soon as I return!"

In-depth insights and expert knowledge

The 'Producer-Only' Difference

The Bethlehem Farmers' Market at Farrington Square is committed to a 'producer-only' model. This means that every vendor you encounter is a local farmer or artisan selling goods they have grown, raised, or made themselves. This ensures the highest quality and freshest products, directly supporting the local agricultural community. You won't find resellers here; it's all about authentic, local sourcing. Instagram

This commitment translates into a unique shopping experience where you can often speak directly with the producers, learning about their farming practices and the origins of your food. It fosters a strong connection between consumers and the land, making each purchase a meaningful contribution to the local economy and sustainable agriculture. Reddit

Seasonal Delights and When to Visit

The Bethlehem Farmers' Market offers a taste of the seasons, with offerings changing throughout its operational period from late April/early May to November. Early in the season, you might find more greens and root vegetables, while summer brings an abundance of berries, tomatoes, and stone fruits. As fall approaches, expect pumpkins, apples, and hearty baked goods. Instagram+2

While the market is open on Thursdays, the crowd can fluctuate. Mid-morning, around 10 AM to 11 AM, might offer a slightly less crowded experience as vendors are just setting up and early birds are browsing. By midday, it tends to get busier, especially if there's live music or special events. Visiting closer to the end of the market hours might mean fewer choices but a more relaxed atmosphere. Reddit

Beyond Produce: A Culinary and Craft Hub

While fresh produce is a cornerstone, the Bethlehem Farmers' Market is also a vibrant hub for prepared foods and artisan crafts. Food vendors offer a diverse range of lunch options, from savory snacks to sweet treats. Popular items include freshly baked croissants, americano coffee, and notably, highly-praised vegan donuts and cupcakes. InstagramReddit+1

Beyond edibles, you can discover unique handmade items like soaps, lotions, and other crafts. These offerings provide excellent opportunities for finding thoughtful gifts or personal keepsakes.
