"Timeless, wonderfully innovative and delightful outdoor space for children to build and play. A playground and learning lab for kids and the cheapest adventure park ever for parents."
Stephen Cassidy
"Wonderful playground that offers a unique experience for kids. Must sign a waver before entering and most definitely monitor your children. The playground offers free donated wood to build with, tools - hammers and hand saws- nails, hinges, and water based paints. In order to acquire hand tools kids must use a magnet on a string to find lost nails or pick up trash. The playground has been constructed with donated lumber. The kids use their imaginations to build something. They can also add onto existing infrastructures and paint their projects. The playground inspects all new additions daily to assess any public safety issues. The playground is a close walk to ample parking and the view of the bay is stunning! Kids love this place!!"

The Philosophy of Play: Building and Imagination
The process of acquiring tools is also part of the adventure. Children must use magnets on strings to collect discarded nails or pick up litter, turning a chore into a game. This not only teaches them resourcefulness but also instills a sense of responsibility for maintaining the playground. The playground's staff regularly inspects new additions for safety, ensuring that while the play is adventurous, it remains within reasonable safety parameters. This blend of freedom and gentle guidance makes it a truly special place.
Many visitors, including those who visited as children themselves, remark on the playground's enduring charm and its ability to spark genuine wonder. It's a place where the 'what if' questions are answered with action, and where the only limit is a child's imagination. The ever-changing landscape of the playground, shaped by the daily efforts of its young builders, makes each visit a unique experience.
Navigating Safety and Supervision
The playground's philosophy embraces a degree of risk, which many find exhilarating and educational. It encourages children to be more cautious and aware of their surroundings, a sentiment echoed by parents who've seen their children develop a heightened sense of care. The requirement of signing a liability waiver underscores the understanding that this is not a typical, safety-certified play space. Instead, it's an environment that trusts children, with adult guidance, to navigate its challenges.
For those who prefer a more conventional play experience, the presence of a traditional playground right next door offers a welcome alternative. This allows families to tailor their visit to their comfort level, enjoying the unique building aspects of Adventure Playground and then transitioning to more standard swings and slides if desired.
