"Perfect for new hikers!
Our family came here on one of the hottest days and the trees kept it super cool!

We didn’t know that there’s no waterfall in August but there is in April. Even so, it was still super enjoyable!!

The boys got to catch 4 frogs and saw an owl bathing. Even saw chipmunks and salamanders!

Best thing was it’s not overly crowded either! We are definitely going to come back!!"

Liz Nguyen

"Coal Creek Falls is a beautiful, peaceful hike with a great mix of forest scenery and a rewarding waterfall at the end. The trail is well-maintained, not too difficult, and perfect for a quick nature escape. Best to visit after rainfall for a more impressive flow!"

Lisa Smith

"There’s not a more perfect urban trail outside of Seattle than to Coal Creek Falls! A 3 mile, round trip loop that has something for everyone and every age (or paw—dog friendly). Whether it is massive boulders, shiny green moss, dripping springs, freshly sprung wild mushrooms, a rushing falls and even an old mine, you can’t go wrong. It definitely gets the heart racing. Take the Red Town Trail > Indian Trail > Quarry Trail > Coal Creek Falls Trail > Cave Hole Trail > Red Town Trail. Come early for parking and prepare for some mud."
