What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Jean Bonnet Tavern is praised for its historic charm, hearty food, and convenient Turnpike location. While some find the rooms and hallways small, the unique atmosphere and delicious meals, especially the generous sandwiches, make it a highly recommended stop for travelers and locals alike. The owner's confident responses to reviews add a touch of local character.
"We had dinner here. It’s located right off the turnpike in 220. Pretty easy to get to food was good. Service was fine. It’s a historic old building kinda like the Dobbin house in Gettysburg. They do have rooms you can stay in. We did not stay in them I will say that it’s located pretty close to the turnpike. You’re not sure what the noise level would be like but definitely a good place to grab some chicken wings and a beer."

"Very cute, historic building. Hallways and bathrooms are quite small and crowded but that's to be expected in a location like this. The food was wonderful, we were there on a Saturday night and were told there would be a 40 minute wait, which we assumed and were fine with, but we were actually seated in 20. We all got sandwiches, all liked them, and my chicken sandwich was HUGE and flavorful. We were also pleasantly surprised by the oatmeal pie! Our server was very nice as well. Would definitely return!"

"If you want to be entertained during the short wait for your drinks, read through the rare and unsavory 1-2 star reviews, and enjoy the owners saucy responses. Hilarious! She has a well deserved confidence in this excellent establishment, and minces no words. Read them for yourselves, and enjoy! Service, atmosphere, and food were all impeccable, a courteous, quiet place steeped in history. Real wax candles add to the romance. Plenty of cheerful and attentive servers, good vibes. Had dinner here with my wife on the way back from NY, we'll definitely come back again to sample more of the succulent fare; we made a good start on the shrimp and salmon, drunken portabella mushrooms, and salmon salad. Highly recommend if you want a quiet, quality meal."
