What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Binder Park Zoo is widely praised for its spacious, naturalistic exhibits and the highly engaging giraffe feeding experience. Families particularly enjoy the active animals and the added attractions like the dinosaur trail and carousel. While the zoo's size means a lot of walking, the tram service helps navigate the grounds. Some visitors have noted that animal activity can vary, and occasional tram wait times can occur.
"We had such a fun family day at Binder Park Zoo! This was my little man’s very first zoo experience, and he loved looking around at all the animals. We were lucky that so many of them were out and active, which made it extra exciting.
The highlight for us was definitely the safari section—feeding the giraffes is such a unique and memorable experience. Our little guy wasn’t quite ready to feed them himself (maybe next time! 😅), but he loved watching mom and dad do it. The train ride out to the safari was nice, though we did have to wait a bit since only one was running, but it wasn’t too bad. After exploring, we decided to walk back instead of waiting again, which was a nice option to have.
We also really appreciated the wide variety of animals and how much space the zoo has. It does mean a bit more walking compared to some other zoos, but it makes the exhibits feel more open and enjoyable. Visiting on a Friday morning was perfect since it wasn’t busy at all, which gave us plenty of time and space to enjoy everything.
Overall, we had a wonderful time and can’t wait to come back when our little man is a bit older to experience it all over again. Highly recommend Binder Park Zoo for families looking for a fun day out!"

"My recent visit to Binder Park Zoo was a blast, and I highly recommend it! The park is a good size, with a great variety of animals to see. I was thrilled to feed a cassowary and a giraffe, was a cool experience.
Beyond the animal exhibits, the zoo offers some fantastic activities. I had a great time on the obstacle course, which was a blast for an extra $17. The carousel was a fun classic touch, too.
Overall, it was a fantastic day out. The zoo is well-maintained, the animals are impressive, and the extra activities make it even more enjoyable."

"We are a family with young kids and this experience was a blast. It’s not like some zoos where all animals are sleeping or in the back being fed. The bears, lions, giraffe , etc were all active. The giraffe exhibit was nearly a safari park type set up where we could feed them for $2 … super fun and highly recommend!"
