What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Craigville Beach offers a large, sandy expanse with typically warmer waters, making it a popular spot for families and beachgoers. While many appreciate the ample parking and convenient food options, some visitors have noted issues with restroom availability and crowds during peak times.
"This place was okay. Beach was sandy vs rocky. Water was clean but pretty choppy. Lots of seashells. Was a bit of a crowd even though we went mid-day on a weekday. The restrooms were not open. Only 1 porta potty that was pretty gross.
We went 20 min up the road to Sandy Neck beach and thought it was better."

"Craigville Beach in Barnstable Ma.
On a hot summer day it will attract a good diverse crowd of all ages. It's also a long beach. The parking lot can get filled with both pay-parking or Barnstable resident Stickers.
Many times from June on the waters have been 71 degrees AMAZING!! You wont go numb in 20 seconds and go into a cardiac arrest from freezing waters. Will it always be that way, of course not, but its South facing on Cape Cod the Nantucket Sound and typically much warmer than East Atlantic facing beaches...
There are municipal facilities and outside showers. Cant forget the famous "Barnacle Food stand" across the street. What's excellent about "all" the Cape Cod beaches, they are not overrun with endless mobs or constant roar of vehicles and you wont have the activity of "Times Square" or "Atlantic City" or even worse, you wont get the aroma of fryolator grease in the air. True beach goers appreciate the natural beauty and serenity of the Cape Cod beaches without all the commercialized garbage..
The Cape welcomes you, your friends and family, children and grandchildren for generations for peaceful days at the beaches.
Welcome to Cape Cod- the Florida of Massachusetts and New England."

"My mom's favorite beach...big expanse of clean white sand. It's too busy and loud for me but families love it and there's always a bunch of teens enjoying themselves. In the evenings it's lovely..folks go after work for a relaxing dip."

Beach Experience & Water Quality
Reviews indicate that the water is usually clean, and the beach itself is often described as well-maintained, especially considering the volume of visitors it attracts. However, as with any busy public beach, cleanliness can fluctuate, particularly regarding facilities. The presence of numerous seashells is a common feature, adding to the natural charm of the beach and providing opportunities for beachcombing.
Parking, Facilities, and Nearby Amenities
Regarding facilities, reviews are mixed. While some visitors have found the municipal restrooms and outside showers to be well-kept and clean, others have reported them being closed or not in the best condition, particularly during busy periods. This inconsistency means it's wise to be prepared for potentially limited or less-than-ideal restroom situations. Across the street from the beach, you'll find The Barnacle, a convenient food stand offering snacks and light meals, which is a popular amenity for those spending a full day at the beach. For more dining options, the charming village of Centerville and the broader Barnstable area offer a variety of restaurants and cafes.

The beach's location on Nantucket Sound also makes it a good base for exploring other parts of Cape Cod, with various towns and attractions within a short driving distance.
