What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Kalahari Resorts generally receive praise for their extensive indoor waterparks and family-friendly attractions, with many visitors highlighting the fun for all ages and the dedicated kids' areas. However, some guests find the resort to be overpriced for the overall experience, citing issues with staff helpfulness, maintenance, and a feeling of being treated as an inconvenience, especially when compared to the premium cost.
"Checked in Saturday night in the "Sands" portion room was clean and spacious. Water park was great kids went down everything nearly any wait. Us adults enjoyed the swim up bar called the Thirsty Turtle bartenders were great. Full of energy and great with conversation. All staff are all around great."

"Disappointed with the Experience – Not Worth the Price
We had high expectations for Kalahari Resort given the premium price, but unfortunately, our experience fell far short. Nearly every interaction with staff was unpleasant—rude, unhelpful, and dismissive. It felt like we were an inconvenience rather than valued guests.
One major issue was being locked out of our room for over 30 minutes because the battery on the door lock died. This should be something the resort regularly checks and maintains. On top of that, the microwave in our room didn’t work and had to be replaced after we called for help.
When it rained during our stay, they closed all outdoor pools—which is understandable—but once the rain stopped, they only reopened the outdoor area at the main resort, not at our specific building. It felt like guests outside the main building were treated as second-class. To make matters worse, there wasn’t even a staffed front desk in our section of the resort—we had to call the main resort for help with anything.
Overall, we paid a luxury price for a stay that felt more like a budget motel experience. We expected much better service, responsiveness, and organization. Sadly, we won’t be returning."

"We didn't realize the various buildings. No one to help when we checked in. All kiosks. Phones available but very dry service. Outdoor area closed. Hot tub area had great service (bars) but the water was lukewarm at best."
