What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary

The staff's hospitality also receives consistent acclaim.
"The resort was absolutely amazing. We played Sheep Ranch on Saturday and the course was perfect fairways, and Greens were gorgeous. It rained for about 1:30, after then the sun opened up and the back nine every photo and shot and putt was breathtaking. Super Bowl Sunday we played Bandon Trails. The course again was amazing but very tough. Only feedback was to me directly hit the ball long get it on the top tier of the green. Bunkers, Fairways, green again were perfect condition. The staff were so considerate and helpful. The concourse staff were absolutely amazing. Thank you for this beautiful opportunity."

"A little more challenging walking course with some of the greens to tees a bit of a hike. At one hole, a vehicle carries golfers and caddies to the next tee box. The course is spectacularly beautiful and quite from the others as it is forested, has a few ponds, and does not play by the sea. There is abundant wildlife between turkeys & deer. There is also less wind."

"Though not on the ocean like the other courses...it is just as beautiful and just as fun to play. Great layout with plenty of challenges with bug bunkers, trees and water. Since it is inland, there is less fog and wind too. Many beautiful holes...hard to decide the signature hole. Had a lot of fun and would definitely put this course in the line up when making a Bandon Dunes golf trip!"

The Bandon Trails Experience: An Inland Gem
The journey begins with a climb through the dunes, reminiscent of the resort's other acclaimed courses, but soon transitions into rolling meadows and then into the shaded tranquility of the forest. This varied terrain demands strategic shot-making, with hazards like strategically placed bunkers, water features, and trees testing a golfer's precision. The course routing is masterful, ensuring that each hole feels distinct and memorable. Many golfers find the walk itself to be a significant part of the experience, though some longer transitions between holes are aided by a shuttle service.
While it may not offer the dramatic ocean vistas of Pacific Dunes or Old MacDonald, Bandon Trails provides its own brand of breathtaking beauty. The natural integration of the course into its environment, coupled with its challenging yet fair design, makes it a favorite for many who visit Bandon Dunes. It's a course that rewards thoughtful play and offers a profound connection with nature, solidifying its reputation as an essential part of any Bandon golf pilgrimage.
Navigating the Challenges: Travel and Cost
The cost of playing Bandon Trails, and indeed any course at Bandon Dunes, is substantial. These are premium golf experiences, and the green fees reflect that. However, many visitors attest that the quality of the courses, the stunning scenery, and the exceptional hospitality make it a worthwhile investment. To manage costs, consider looking into the resort's stay-and-play packages, which often bundle accommodation and golf for a better overall value. Planning your trip during the shoulder seasons (spring or fall) might also offer slightly lower rates and fewer crowds.
Beyond the golf itself, the town of Bandon is small and quaint, offering limited entertainment options outside the resort. This means that a trip to Bandon Dunes is primarily a golf-focused endeavor. The resort aims to provide everything you need on-site, from dining to lodging, ensuring a self-contained and immersive experience.
