The Colonial Theatre is open for select events as it is in the middle of a major renovation project to bring the structure back to its former glory. It is easy to look past the Colonial for events in the area as it isn't the biggest or most well to do location in Augusta, but the Theatre makes up for what it may lack in character and exceptionalism.
I attended Kent Axell's Illusionist event at the Colonial. The space certainly evokes a unique character of the past while surrounding visitors with the Theatre's plans for the future.
I plan to go back to the Colonial Theatre at the first opportunity I get. It certainly is at the top of my list of places to visit in Augusta."
