Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Santa Fe Depot for its stunning historic architecture and its crucial role as a transportation hub. Many highlight the convenience of arriving directly into downtown San Diego and the scenic train journeys offered by Amtrak and the Coaster. While primarily a functional station, its beauty and historical significance are frequently noted.

"We can not say enough good things about this place. Inside the museum is a wide range of exhibits in a building that has seen remodeling/refreshing in the last several years. The local tourist office is here and very friendly knowledgeable staff. Modern bathrooms very clean. Outside is one the largest railroad equipment we have seen. We took many many photos. The star of the show was a steam locomotive. However getting a photo with clean angles was difficult with all the informational displays around it. There is also a faux/replica covered bridge found on the property.
We visited May 2023."

"It was a museum with a bunch of other stuff, not all trains. It had a bunch of guns in the back and native American arrowheads and Louis and clark. The people at the counter were very nice!!!! When you go outside there are a whole bunch of trains you can walk alongside to look at."
