What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Astoria Riverwalk Inn offers unbeatable Columbia River views and a prime location on a working marina at an affordable price. While rooms are older and may have a distinct fish odor, guests appreciate the character, friendly staff, and convenient access to local attractions and dining.
"I dug through the reviews on this hotel and almost skipped out on it but I’m glad I didn’t. Astoria is expensive with a lot of hotels in the $250 price range and can go up to $400 a night. So this lovely hotel for the price was perfect. It was not expensive. It is a fishing hotel and it is next to a processing plant which sometimes had a slight odor of fish (we grew up on the coast so it didn’t bug us at all). The view from the balcony was amazing. The front desk lady was sweet. We got tea and filled our water bottles at night. We were able to walk to the local tavern for dinner. There was security so I felt my car was safe. The showers water pressure and temps were great. The room was clean. There is some cosmetic stuff like chipping paint and some stains. It is an old hotel but I didn’t mind it at all as it gave it character. It was great to sleep with our balcony door open and listen to the rain. All in all for the price I think it is worth it."

"Stayed there last week for 4 nights. we had an amazing time. The room had an amazing view and a balcony that we enjoyed sitting on, watching the birds and the boats. Yes, the rooms are a little older. That doesn't necessarily equate to a negative, however. It appears that attention has been paid (for the most part) to keeping things clean and repaired. The staff was very nice, the prices were very affordable, the motel was quiet, so sleeping wasn't an issue and the bed comfortable. The views were AMAZING. The breakfast was good and a special shout out to Marie (I think that was her name) who did an AWESOME job of keeping the breakfast bar stocked and clean. The young girl who checked us in on Friday night was also very helpful and kind.
We came from a distance but, if we ever make it back to Astoria, would stay there again."

"I think it is important to be fair with reviews. Astoria is an older town, and the Riverwalk Inn is an aging motel and literally right above the West Marina and if you are a fisherman or going on a guided fish trip this is a perfect place to stay. The staff is great; the rooms are aging but clean and yes the cost is high but you cannot beat the location. I have stayed there several times now and I have enjoyed my visit each time both alone and with my family. You can literally walk to the marina and per other reviews, you cannot beat the view from the balconies. I would recommend this motel to anyone but if you want the 5-star resort experience, this might now be your best bet. The amenities in the room are awesome, and they give you a coffee machine, fridge with small freezer, soap and shampoo in the bathrooms, and the beds are clean, and towels are clean. It is centrally located to the rest of Astoria so you can't go wrong here especially if you are a fisherman or visiting the marina in any way. Thank you and God bless!!!!"
