What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Deep Creek Preserve for its peaceful atmosphere, abundant wildlife, and the unique experience of natural hot springs. However, some find the trails confusing and potentially dangerous if not sticking to marked paths, and the lack of shade can be a significant drawback during warmer months.
"Peaceful place to walk around. Lots of animal life around. Seen Deer, Hogs, Bobcat, Tortuse, Tons of Rabbts."

"I originally entered the trails at the Deep Creek Park entrance and, to be honest, really hated it there. In many areas the grass was tall (watch where you step) or deep sand. I also found the trail markings (many are posted on trees) to be a little confusing and I took a couple of wrong turns. After exploring for about an hour, I left and went to the primary entrance where the old campground is located. It was only slightly better. Also, there is nothing interesting to see, although I was on the main entrance area trails for only a short while. There is plenty of parking at the main entrance in front of the gate, btw, something I couldn’t tell with certainty from other reviews. In general, there are plenty of other good trails in the area to visit before this one."

"This is a fun hiking trail as long as you stick to the 'hiking and equestrian' paths. Awhile back I tried to enter at marker #17 and do the 'hiking' loop. It was rediculously dangerous and ankle breaking...many of the remarks on the paper at that entrance reflected the same feelings. But, of you stick to the trails #1 through #14, it's a pretty nice hike."
