Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Haines Mill Museum as a well-preserved historical gem and a peaceful escape. Many appreciate the opportunity to see original mill equipment and explore the charming surrounding park and outbuildings. While tours are a highlight, the serene grounds are a draw year-round.

"What an interesting view into the past, hidden right next to Dorney Park!

I've lived here for many years but somehow never had taken the time to stop in. That ended today, and I'm glad that I did. It is amazing to see how milling worked both before and after modern conveniences such as engines and electricity."

"Recently, my wife and I visited Cedar Creek Parkway East to walk and explore more of Allentown's excellent park system. I have driven past this Mill for years and paid little attention. The property is beautiful and well-maintained, and the Mill's interior is original—not re-imagined. Much of the old equipment is still there and in working condition. We visited on a weekday and met Ken Haines, the great-grandson of one of the original mill owners. The local historical society offers building tours on weekends from May to September. The property has a one-room schoolhouse, blacksmith shop, woodworking shop, and other small outbuildings. It is a real historical gem that sits behind Dorney Park and was owned by Dorney Park for several years in order to secure the water rights."

"Absolutely beautiful park. A hidden treasure in Allentown. My wife and I were married in front of the gazebo in 2003.

This is the type of park you go to when you want to get away from the stresses of life for the day. The grounds are immaculate and there are so many beautiful flowers to see. Pack a lunch, bring a blanket, and find a nice shady spot to sit, eat and connect with nature.

There are two streams that run along the park. We used to fish here as kids but I don’t think fishing is allowed here now. We spotted several large Trout while walking over the bridge to the north side of the park.

I’m not sure if they still offer tours of the Mill so I would probably call to get more information.

There were several people walking their dogs while we were there so I’m guessing it’s a dog friendly park.

If you love Photography like I do then don’t forget to bring your camera. You won’t be disappointed."
