"Beautiful place for a wedding with southern charm. One must be mindful of the weather and if using a tent they do not allow it be completely cover the patio. They require the legs be on the brick. That means if it is raining, it will dump rain on the dance floor, making it very slick. Pray for good weather!"

"You get what you pay for. While the house and grounds are beautiful and inexpensive, the customer service was terrible after Shirley left. The Rye Patch coordinator, Jessica, is rude and unaccommodating.
I was scheduled to come in for set-up the day before my wedding, but she told the facilities worker not to come put my tables and chairs out – so my family had to do it. She claimed she had no recollection that I was scheduled to come put out decorations even though I had email proof that I was scheduled.
I also used the refrigerator (that was marked “refrigerator” on both doors) only to have everything I put in there freeze solid overnight. The Rye Patch staff didn’t apologize for this, admitted they didn’t even bother to check the settings on it to make sure it was set to an appropriate temperature after the
previous event, and then tried to claim that I changed the temperature to freeze. They also refused to reimburse me for damages. The staff member who was supposed to be there for support during the wedding was nowhere to be found the entire day.
The City of Aiken also requires you to jump through
hoops that you wouldn’t have to do with a privately owned space: noise variances, being named on the alcohol insurance even when your caterer has insurance, requiring all vendors to have City of Aiken business licenses even when they don’t reside in Aiken and are only there for one day, and refuse to
meet with you on weekends even if you live out of town. Once Jessica took over as coordinator, my experience was awful and I just wanted the whole thing to be over – which is not the way you’re supposed to feel about your wedding."
