What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate Peter Strauss Ranch for its unique historical ruins, scenic trails, and dog-friendly atmosphere. It's a great spot for photography and picnics. However, some find the abandoned structures eerie and note the lack of cell service and sometimes unclear trail signage, suggesting it's not always the most remarkable hike compared to nearby options.
"There are no signs in the parking lot and finding trails is difficult. It seems like a cool place but there’s no cell service so you’re kind of left on your own if you don’t bring a map and thoroughly research it beforehand. The place seems like it would be great for events but when on a late November afternoon it felt straight out of a horror movie. People walking angry dogs, the few people you interact with have something strange about them, and the buildings/structures look super creepy.
I wouldn’t hesitate to go back except it’s just not that remarkable. Not a bad place, but I think there are better hikes in the area"

"I call this my backyard! Has several great trails you can get to! Across the street is the Old Place...grab a glass of wine after@"
Christine Brasch
"Great old park in the mountains. Was an old ranch house. There is a rustic stone theatre in the center. Tiny Porch Concerts did their shows there"
