What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Bell Witch Cave for its rich history, engaging guides, and the authentic, spooky atmosphere. The family-run operation is noted for its pride and knowledge. However, some find the cave tours crowded and the facilities, like porta-potties, could be cleaner. The cave's natural, rugged terrain makes it inaccessible for some.
"Pros....This place was so awesome!! Lots of history and the guy that done our cabin tour (I didn't catch his name) was really good and provided a lot of historical information. There was plenty of parking once you got in and we got pretty close to the entrance as we got there right when it opened. There was also a really nice gift shop with lots of cool stuff.
Cons...the restrooms are porta potties and they're not the cleanest things.
Granted, we visited close to Halloween, but the tour groups were really large. The cave wasnt that big and you were kinda having to shuffle around to see things. Also, there was another large group coming in as our group was trying to get out and the corridor was very small, so everyone was up against the wall on their side trying to shuffle in/out. I feel like they need to wait til one group is out before letting another enter. The cave is also pretty treacherous as it is a natural cave. Theres a small stream running through it, with some pretty big rocks, so keep that in mind if you're gonna visit. Definitely not for people with mobility issues or difficulty bending over, as theres one spot where the ceiling is really low. It is also a pretty steep, rocky path going down to the cave and a pretty steep climb out. Overall, it was a good visit with lots of history!"

"So much fun! The property/experience is owned and operated by a family that takes so much pride and care in management of the farm, burial grounds, cave, and cabin. Very professional and knowledgeable team! We did the 3 hour lantern tour with Candy and Makenzie as our guides. They were awesome! The tour was the perfect mix of history and paranormal stories. The cave was amazing!! We recommend wearing waterproof hiking boots with good ankle support. Thank you for such an amazing evening! We can't wait to go back ❤️"

"This is a great tourist attraction if you love folklore, local history, or caves! I grew up hearing stories of the Bell Witch, so it was awesome to hear the guide’s retelling and actually put a place to it. Wait was about 20 minutes in order to get a full group on a Sunday, and the staff was kind.
The cave was amazing on its own, and you’ll learn more about its history that doesn’t involve the haunting. The guide was excellent, and we even saw some neat critters. The cave isn’t accessible for those with mobility issues or very small children due to loose rocks, low clearances, and slippery areas, but my clumsy four-year-old did just fine—even after a few days of rain. We were a little slower than the rest of the group, but our guide was friendly and patient with us."
