"Mark has the best voice ever and is incredibly entertaining and witty. I felt as if I were watching a play— very cool. The 90 or so minute walkabout was great fun, and Mark took great care in ensuring safety and tried to get to know as many people as he could. He also took great care to ensure two ladies with mobility challenges were able to keep up and prompted them to sit when possible. There is no guarantee that you’ll see or hear ghosts— that’s not what this is about. But you never know…But, this tour is about wonderful storytelling about death, execution, murder, and so forth, and it delivers! Don’t pay attention to the hater reviews by some— not sure what they were looking for, but for a few quid this experience was worth it. Cheers"

"As a ghost skeptic I wasn’t sure what the tour would bring but decided to give it a go anyway and we had an amazing time!! The host was friendly and funny and engaging and the group had a great atmosphere. We went early September and it got dark just in time so it was eerie and exciting. There were interesting stories about ghosts and also the history of York, I believe anyone would enjoy this tour, convinced or not! My partner also had a great time. I would recommend that you go on one of your first nights as the host encouraged us to go back alone and experience these places after dark again but we did it on our last night! The host absolutely made this tour so all props to him, highly recommend."

"The tour guide, Mark, had the perfect voice and vibe to run the tour. Despite it being a large group, I never had a hard time hearing him or seeing him. It was fun to walk around York so I’d recommend doing it on one of your first nights in town to orient yourself. It was nice to see the town in the evening. We just didn’t think the ghost stories were that engaging"
