P E A K S ✨ We explored somewhere new within the Peak District yesterday, thanks to a recommendation from @boonzandbean 🐾 We started off at the Millers Dale station, walked a short distance along the Monsall Trail and then diverted off road to follow the river Wye to Chee Dale and the stepping stones. After 2/3 sets of stepping stones (with one being rocky boulders), we followed the path back ...

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Millers Dale Station as a beautiful location with excellent walking and cycling opportunities, particularly along the Monsal Trail and to the Chee Dale Stepping Stones. The station itself is a convenient hub with a cafe. However, some find the cafe prices to be quite high for the food offered. Reddit+1

"Nice place and friendly staff but the food is expensive. For 2 fruit teas, a kids hotdog and 2 tuna toasties it cost us £44. If I were sat down I would have fallen off my chair. The food we had was nice so I've only knocked it down a star for the price. Great walks nearby. Will visit again but probably take my own food."

Chris Willocks

"The car park serves the old station building, which is now a cafe/tearoom, serving a good selection of hot & cold meals, including sandwiches etc. Located next to Millers Dale twin viaduct, the station & it's original platform is very popular with walkers & cyclists travelling along the picturesque Monsal trail, a disused railway branch line that was closed down in the 1960s as part of the beeching cuts. The station is definitely worth a visit."

Jim Stringer

"Can be busy on nice weekends but I always manage to find a space even of i wait 3-4 minutes. If you walk 10 minutes up the trail and veer off to the right just before the first bridge. Go down the wood stairs to the river and follow the path. It will tale you along the river through a fantastic trail including the stepping stones and loop back of at the long tunnel. It is a circular loop takes about 1.5 hours including from the car park and back."
