With the emerald serenity of the lake district in the background, the trains glide elegantly to the station, and the station house contains a lot of useful information on idyllic trips in and around the Lakes. Twice, I sought refuge from the cascading rain inside the pleasant illuminated haven provided by the station. It's soothing and clean and deserves more credit than it probably receives."
