What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Vallis Vale is praised for its beautiful riverside and woodland walks, making it a great spot for families and dog owners. Visitors appreciate the natural beauty and opportunities for exploration, though the limited parking and muddy, uneven terrain can be challenging for some.
"There is a very small car parking area. On a lovely sunny day, you can walk along the river bank or wooded area. Although it can get quite muddy. So wear grippy, comfortable shoes or wellies. When you get to the iron bridge, you can go left, and follow the route up to Mells. Turn right, and you end up at the old ARC plant. This is a nice walk for both humans and dogs. Remembering to bag up your dog poop and binning it appropriately. OK for walkers and bike rides, but wheelchairs and push chairs will find the terrain bumpy and possibly narrow in certain places."
Sally Cowley
"Path winds through the woods by a stream. Somewhat overgrown in late summer, but good for dogs, children and adventurous adults to explore. Some river paddling opportunities too. There is still evidence of its industrial revolution heritage to be discovered. Walk extends to Great Elm and Mells."
Steve Cundy
"Absolutely brilliant river walk, ideal for families or dog walking, not so good for person's with walking impairments.
Many tree roots and obstacles, but shady paths, easy access for dogs to paddle or drink fresh water"
